Giveaway terms

These terms apply to the AmongFolk “A year closer. On us.” giveaway. By completing an entry, you agree to these terms.

The giveaway

A year closer. On us. AmongFolk will draw 25 winners, each receiving one year of free AmongFolk Plus membership for one group. One membership covers everyone in that group.

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. Buying a membership does not improve your chances.

Who can enter

You must be 18 or older and resident in the United Kingdom, United States of America, South Africa or Australia. You must also have reached the legal age of majority where you live.

One entry and a maximum of one prize per person across all participating countries. Multiple email addresses, Instagram accounts, likes or shares do not create extra entries. People directly involved in running the giveaway and their immediate families cannot enter.

Dates

• Opens: when the official giveaway post is first published on @amongfolk on Instagram.
• Closes: 29 November 2026 at 23:59 GMT (UTC+0).
• Draw: 30 November 2026.

The closing time is the same worldwide. All required entry steps must be completed before it.

How to enter

Complete all three steps:

1. Follow @amongfolk on Instagram.
2. Like the official AmongFolk giveaway post on Instagram.
3. Share that giveaway post by emailing its link to hello@amongfolk.com with the subject “AmongFolk giveaway”. Send it from an email address you can access and include your Instagram username, country of residence and confirmation that you meet the age requirement.

Already following? If you already follow @amongfolk, you do not need to unfollow and follow again. Complete the like and share steps during the entry period to qualify.

How we verify your entry: the email sharing the post is the record of your required share. We use the Instagram username you provide to check the official account’s follower list and the giveaway post’s likes before the draw. You must still follow @amongfolk and have liked the post at the closing time. Private accounts can enter using the same process; you do not need to make your account public.

The entry email must reach us before the closing time. A Story share, direct message or screenshot alone does not replace the required email. Additional shares are welcome but do not provide extra entries. Do not send anyone else’s personal information.

We may contact you to resolve a mismatch or confirm that you control the email address or Instagram account supplied. We will not ask for your password. False, automated, duplicate or impersonated entries are invalid. We will keep a record of eligibility checks and include every valid entry in the draw.

The prize

Each winner receives 12 consecutive months of Plus membership for one group. The free year begins when the winner activates the prize membership, not on the draw date. Normal group limits and the Terms of Service apply.

The prize is membership, not a cash payment, and cannot be sold or exchanged for cash. There is no fee to claim it. The prize itself will not automatically start a paid subscription when the free year ends. Any separate paid subscription remains subject to its own terms.

Each prize has a retail value of £49.99 GBP. The total value of all 25 prizes is £1,249.75 GBP. These are sterling values; local currency equivalents vary with exchange rates. No cash equivalent or exchange-rate difference will be paid.

We will arrange activation with each verified winner by email within 28 days of their claim. If the app is not yet available to the winner, activation will take place when it becomes available; no part of the free year is used while waiting. Winners need a compatible device and internet access, at their own normal cost. Any personal tax obligations arising from a prize are the winner’s responsibility.

Choosing and contacting winners

Winners will be selected randomly from all valid entries using a verifiably random process. Each valid entry has the same chance of winning; the odds depend on the number of valid entries received. If fewer than 25 valid entries are received, each eligible entrant will receive one prize.

We will contact winners at the email address they used to enter, after the draw. Winners must reply to that email within 14 days of it being sent to claim their prize. We will never ask for payment, a password or a banking code to release a prize.

The draw will be administered by the promoter at its registered office. An independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney or advocate will oversee and certify the competition. We will email selected winners by 2 December 2026 and make reasonable efforts to contact them. A winner must claim within the 14-day response period, or any longer minimum period required by applicable local law.

Where a selected entrant is ineligible, declines or does not claim within the applicable period, we will draw a replacement at random from the remaining valid entries, subject to any required local approval or retention period. Replacement winners receive the same claim period. Any replacement draw will take place within 14 days after the applicable claim or retention period ends.

Your information

CORDAGE & CO LTD is responsible for your giveaway information. We use your email address, Instagram username, country, age confirmation and verification correspondence to administer your entry, check eligibility, contact winners and deliver prizes. We use this information to perform these terms, meet legal obligations and protect the fairness of the draw. Entry records, checks and prize delivery records are retained for three years after the competition ends, or longer where required by law or an unresolved dispute, then deleted or anonymised.

Sending a giveaway entry email asks us to use that address for competition administration. It does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Giveaway information is also covered by our Privacy Policy. We share entry information only with service providers and independent competition supervisors where needed to administer the promotion, or authorities where legally required.

You can contact hello@amongfolk.com to access or correct your information, ask about your privacy rights or withdraw your entry. We may retain records required by law. We will provide limited winner information, such as surname and country, where required to demonstrate that prizes were awarded. Tell us if you object to this disclosure; we will consider your objection, although information may still need to be supplied to a regulator. Publicity, photographs and testimonials are optional and are not conditions of receiving a prize.

This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram. To the extent permitted by law, entrants release Instagram from responsibility for the promotion. Entry information is provided to AmongFolk, not to Instagram.

If circumstances outside our reasonable control make the promotion impossible to run fairly, we may make only the changes reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law. We will explain any changes on this page and protect existing valid entries wherever possible. We will not change the rules simply to avoid awarding prizes.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under the laws that apply where you live.
